About Sport Study Abroad
Sport Study Abroad was founded on a belief that sport is more than competition — it is a universal language that connects people, cultures, and ideas.
Our Founder's Journey
I'm Arno Langevoort, and my journey into this field has been anything but traditional. While training and working as a medical doctor, I also found myself drawn to international education. In 2012, I joined our family business, Lancon Study Abroad, as a project manager, where I helped design programs that combined sport, culture, and academics for U.S. universities in Europe.
From 2015 to 2024, I was co-owner of Lancon Study Abroad. Together with my family, I built lasting partnerships with universities, federations, and clubs, creating faculty-led programs across Europe and South America. Those years confirmed what I had always believed: sport has the power to transform lives and build understanding.
Alongside this, I worked in healthcare, specializing in addiction medicine. The medical field taught me resilience, empathy, and the importance of human connection — qualities that continue to guide how I design programs today.
In 2025, I launched Sport Study Abroad as the next step in my journey — building on more than a decade of experience in international education and a passion for connecting students and faculty with the world of sport.
Our Mission
Each program we design is more than a trip: it's a chance to learn from professionals, engage with communities, and experience sport as a driver of culture, leadership, and personal growth.
